| My memory of the consultation having attended the initial Southfields Meeting to discuss was that the two roundabout option did not get overwhelming support in subsequent written submissions. There was especially concern that the E3 buses are simply too large but many months later it has happened. The main requirement to make it work better is I think clearer advance signage especially for traffic going north on Acton Lane, that has to give way at the second of the two mini roundabouts (the road marking do indicate that but are not easily seen if traffic is heavy). On the wider issue of traffic lights being retained versus roundabouts, I think with correct use the roundabouts do seem to speed up traffic and reduce delays and blockages. The mini roundabout in Acton High Street above the catholic church/mosque area and more importantly the new roundabout in front of Acton Police station/Morrisons car park which had traffic lights before seem to have speeded up traffic flows from my own observations. |
