Susan,

Try this.

You may try to enable the option ‘Print background color and images’. To enable the option open Internet Explorer
1.       Go to File menu
2.       Select Page setup
3.       Put a check mark against the option Print background color and images
4.       Restart Internet Explorer and check if the print preview works fine.

If that does now help you may try optimizing Internet Explorer and check if that resolves the issue. Follow the link given below, download the ‘Fix-it’ from the article and run the same. That will take care of the issue.
