"Engine oil, textiles and batteries should be left adjacent to the recycling wheelie bin and will be collected on the same vehicle"
Really? The vehicle will have seperate compartments for those items?
Having had the pleasure of doing a grand tour of an MRF ( Gary Malcolm has too) and having seen vast quantities being tipped out of trucks onto the ground then bulldozed and lifted by JCB onto conveyer belts before going through a computerised system for basic recyclables only with anything else going down a dross chute for incineration I wonder if seperate compartments will be unloaded first.
I will enquire.
I still maintain that the most efficient and cost effective bin free way of dealing with the "residual" is no black sacks, clear addressed sacks for scanning and if containing recyclables, including food, (whether containers are rinsed or not ) we pay.
"There was some objection in Hounslow but bins were supplied to all areas as planned". They weren't. Not in the Homefields ward.
