The experience in the LBH parts of Chiswick is that some who have rebelled against wheelie bins are choosing to continue to dump their household waste in public bins (including those on and around Turnham Green). Much of this is recyclable (plastics, glass and food waste, so would not need actually need a wheelie bin but rely on existing recycling collections) Most mornings food waste and empty containers are strewn across the green and local footpaths by foxes.
There seem to be a small number of repeat offenders, certainly in west Chiswick. Fair enough for those who choose to opt out of wheelie bins, but doing so and then creating a litter problem in our few and precious green areas is not acceptable. It is an offense to place household waste in street bins.
