Bob I spoke to Inspector Edwards this morning who heads up NPT in Chiswick and from what he said it appears it was a nearby business who were concerned about the ASB. Since Subway opened ASB has been an ongoing problem, although the past few months have been relatively quiet. The Police visited Subway this morning and CO's will be patrolling outside and nearby Subway again. The problem is that cheap food places attract the wrong type of customer who tend to come in groups. I know this may sound snobbish but until Subway took occupation myself and my neighbours never had any problems with the shops downstairs. Although the old Barley Mow had issues, but The Lamb is fine now. I believe it started inside the shop but moved to outside. When the Police came the crowd dispersed. As I said previously the Police were called numerous times last year due to ASB and we don't want a repeat of that. If Subway weren't there then the problem wouldn't exist - it never happened when Toughs and Savills were in occupation and that was over a 40 year period so I think it's a reasonable supposition to say it's the type of retail outlet that attracts undesirable customers. |
