Paul - The sad thing is that only Labour supporters are welcome. Surely there is little for them to learn from those who already support Labour? There will of course be scope for the old arid arguments about whether they should be aiming to "seize the middle ground" or "present the British people with a genuinely progressive agenda". Will they be asking themselves if following the disaster (for all Unionist Parties) in Scotland and the huge support for UKIP, there is a need to introduce an element of PR into the elections for the Westminster Parliament? Will they genuinely listen to the concerns of millions of their fellow citizens about the dangers of ongoing large scale immigration? The evidence to date is that Labour have heard loud and clear but that they have not actually been listening to what "ordinary working people" are actually saying. We heard virtually nothing from Labour in the election campaign about the environment and climate change. Why not? |
