Claire - Charles is entitled to lobby the government of the day; that government is entitled to consider his representations and, if it feels it is appropriate, to ignore them. If it does so, he has no more comeback than the rest of us. While I happen to think that many of the causes he espoused in the published letters are excellent, I disagree with his support for the badger cull, but I can understand that in that instance he was speaking for a large number of farmers who favoured it, in the absence of a better alternative from DEFRA. |
