The prince does great things for this country and the princes trust is huge for the younger generation. BUT...Does charlie have an influence ? I give you Prince Charles,Chelsea barracks and a £81m court claim after a phone call and tea. Chelsea barracks a project all on course and suddenly a late night phone call to Qatari Diar puts it all on hold within mins. Weeks later a meeting with the Emir of Qatar over tea at Clarence House finally has Qatari Diar shelving the development. Then we have property developers CBC Group suing Qatari partners and blaming Charlie for his intervention. Emails that were said to be deleted were recovered from a server found The Qatari company was extremely concerned about the impact of the prince's intervention. one e-mail from its chief operating officer saying it "could be seen as a major embarrassment to Qatar". The same e-mail reveals fears that the affair could undermine UK government support for projects, as Qatar had a "major financial interest" in the UK. The prince was extremely "very unhappy" the matter had been made public. The judge said both CPC Group and Qatari Diar "were faced with a very difficult position once the Prince of Wales intervened in the planning process". "His intervention was,no doubt, unexpected and unwelcome," he added. Not saying his thoughts or ideas are wrong, but to say he does not influence people would be in my view hugely wrong and the above resulting in a law suit in the high court clearly in my view shows he does have big influences and indeed applies them in certain places. Charles obviously was not delighted that this became public due to the high court law suit and deleted emails being found elsewhere becoming public. Do you have a view on this Will ? |
