It is far from perfect but to compare Scotland with the dismal showing for UKIP is a bit of a 'misnomer' given that anyone other than the SNP in Scotland was going to get slaughtered. UKIP really should have concentrated on winnable seats without the delusion of being a big party. Putting loads of resources into these would have seen more than Carswell elected. The proof of this was targeting a winnable Thanet council where the other candidates were overwhelmed with UKIP 'foot soldiers'. The result: the first UKIP council. |
