Felicity, last night's 'hurricane'was not much more than a light breeze compared to the real hurricane of October 1987.My neighbour had a big tree that used to be across the street embedded in his roof.I never did find our garden fence again, or most of the kitchen roof that disappeared. Everybody lost their dustbins, no idea where they went, but they were never seen again. That really was one hell of a night, and the funny thing is, I slept right through it.I am usually an incredibly light sleeper.A mouse farting at the end of the street would wake me up.But that night, I slept soundly. |
