Vanessa, while I agree with you that there is room for more clampdowns on tax-dodgers (clampdowns that were conspicuous by their absence during the thirteen wasted years when Gordon Bean was in charge of the nation's finances), the Labour policy of throwing money at public services without any corresponding improvement in efficiency of operation has failed again and again. Therefore increasing taxes as you advocate is unlikely to deliver a better service. Unfortunately we don't get what we pay for. Milibean Minor's sudden decision to attack non-dom arrangements that have been in place for over two centuries, despite the doubts expressed by his own Shadow Chancellor, is just another opportunistic attempt to gain a few headlines and has little to do with economic reality. You just can't trust Labour. |
