The difference here between QPR and Brentford is that if Brentford go up they don't have a huge wage bill. This means they could either do what Burnley did and keep the current squad, play at the top level for a year and reap a huge windfall or do what Leicester did and buy goals through Ulloa and Kramaric in an attempt to stay up which currently seems to be working. QPR were constrained by having lots of players on their books who they were paying but they weren't playing. It is interesting that the stalwarts of the promotion season are the ones that are coming to the fore in their brave but probably futile attempt to avoid the drop.
