Found a swarm of bees. Alas, did not have a camera with me. They were quite quiet as it was still cool but livening up a bit as I left. I gather that there are hives in the kitchen garden. I'm not sure how quickly they will be dealt with so you might still catch them. They are in a young birch on the path that runs parallel with the Italian gardens at the lime avenue end. The swarm is about fifteen inches long and about a medium sized hand span around.
