Francis, after ten years of commuting in from Gunnersbury, the current service from Turnham Green is close to life changing, with in term of reliability and frequency. The additional improvement of a Piccadilly stop would be rather marginal in comparison. What would be pretty grim for the much larger numbers of current commuters on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly would be to stop their already stuffed service for another minute or two to try to cram on more at Turnham Green. That's not speculation, but rather what we've already seen when a disrupted District-line service causes a rush-hour Piccadilly train to stop at Turnham Green. Curses from those already on the train and annoyance for those left on the platform fails a cost-benefit analysis any way you cut it. |
