Whilst I find fox hunting abhorrent, at least the foxes are free range and lead a free life - until a pack of dogs are set to chase them down. Animals bred/stolen for testing have no life at all save for a cage and the horrors that come each day. Animals bred for meat may have a reasonable life if they are the lucky few to be reared on a proper free range farm (not some trumped-up idea of free range) but they all face packing into crates and/or lorries, transportation and an often fiendish death. There are people on this forum who have openly admitted they could not care less about the horrific treatment of ducks and the agony of forced feeding. I doubt too many care one jot about how animals are treated just as long as a tasty piece of meat appears on their plate. It is time somebody takes the stance in the welfare of creatures unable to voice their own opinions. |
