Michael, I presume those figures are based on average journey times. The more important figure for a daily commuter is the range of journey time. For those negatively impacted by a Turnham Green stop this would increase by about a minute, for those positively impacted the range reduced by at least ten. Put another way if you go into work each day from Turnham Green travelling east in the morning you may find that you board a District line quickly on some days and cross the platform straight onto a Piccadilly line train but all to regularly you have a significant wait for a District line train, a slow journey into Hammersmith and see a Piccadilly line train just departing as you pull in. To be on time for work each day you need to assume your journey is of the latter variety and therefore leave at least ten minutes earlier to be safe. |
