My stained glass windows have been there since the house was built in 1897 and it hasn't been a problem. They have been releaded but the security problem would be that someone could open the Yale lock by breaking the glass. I don't think anyone has only a simple Yale lock on their front door. Most insurance policies require at least a 5 lever mortice lock. The glas panel in my door is too narrow for anyone to climb through.
