| Sadly someone on this forum a couple of years ago had the awful experience of her dog dying within hours despite the vet fighting hard to save him after she gave him a mouthful of cake. I now keep one of my dogs who is a forager on a long lead so that when he picks up chewing gum and cake/biscuits which is discarded by thoughtless people every single day in the park I can get it out of his mouth before he swallows it - the consequences of doing otherwise are just too awful to contemplate. |
