Viv - I really do not think you can do more than put bells on them. Some cats have the killer instinct, whether through necessity or just in their genes. Others are merely opportunist and the rest lazy lumps of fur. If you can keep them in before dusk and do not let them out before 9 or 10am, then you are doing your best to help the bird population. If it is mice/rats they are catching... well sad as it is, the cats are performing a service. It is always doubly sad when they catch voles/shrews (not to mention birds)... but other than making them house cats, there is little you can do. |
