That's the Kensington High Street that's hands down one of the nastiest and least welcoming place to cycle in West London? The problem with ideas like 'shared space' or 'decluttering' is that they're ideologies promulgated by people who make money out of offering them as panaceas, with the result that the actual consequences are often exaggerated and misreported in the press. That's probably the sixth or seventh time I've seen someone going 'hey let's do this' on this forum. CHR is fine, actually, and if you dropped someone from most of the UK onto it they'd wonder what the hell we're all complaining about. It's interesting yet again to find that people actually seem to want the council to have direct planning powers to shape the range of businesses on offer in Hounslow, though, which is politically a position on the left of the Green Party. |
