| I have to agree with the statement that private schools will dump kids who present with challenges - sorry! My son was 'gently' shown the door from a local private school (I will not name the school) for being autistic. We could have persevered with the private school but frankly with such a terrible attitude towards any difficulty my son had why on earth would we want to send him there? He is extremely high functioning and capable and now succeeding in an outstanding local state primary with loads of understanding and support from the current school... there was no desire to be flexible for my child in the private school. I just wanted to put this out there as it was a recent experience and sadly yes - it happens again and again. |
