Planning laws are set by central government, not by local government. Redeveloping a site is allowed within the planning law and local government can only vary conditions within very narrow parameters. NHS budgets are set by central government for CCGs. Local government isn't allowed to build new schools, only central government can authorise schools to be built. These are all facts that seem to escape your attention. Instead of blaming the Government you blame Hounslow Council. You'd better make up your minds: either centralise totally, abolish local Councils and let the man in Whitehall make the decision or start giving local government the powers and revenue to make a difference. A clear statement of your preferences would allow us to know whether you are bleaters or rational thinkers. |
