Anne, it's amazing how people form wild opinions about others based on a single point of view, or argument. Actually, I would say that 90% of all my holiday / free time is spent in the great outdoors - walking or cycling, in the UK and abroad. And yes, camping. Of course I know there are animals in the wild that do not wear muzzles. And I also know that Bears s**t in the woods. One of the things I am looking forward to about my retirement is moving to Dorset / the Purbecks and going out walking several times a week. And what is more, I shall probably get myself a dog for company because what you (and others) have failed to grasp is that I am a dog lover. I can't wait to have a dog for company on long walks. As it is, I live in a flat in Grove Park, with no garden, and I am out at work almost every day so I would never be so cruel as to subject a dog to that. I would certainly not be looking for dog sitters or walkers, I think that would be cruel. I will wait until I can offer a dog the space, time, attention, and exercise a dog needs before getting one. Just because I have strong views on protecting people from the increasing numbers of dog attacks, and also the increasing problem of dog crap on our pavements, you seem to think that I am a dog hater who is terrified of venturing outside the city. Totally wrong. |
