Lorraine, If the TV isn't broken, then you should be able to operate it without the remote, by means of the buttons that will be somewhere on the TV. Assuming that you can turn it on and at least get some sort of display up ( even if it's just a text menu) that's the point at which to start examining the remote. The flashing Standby light could ( and this is just a possibility I stress) indicate there is a problem with the TV e.g. with its power supply. That's why I'm suggesting trying to operate it without the remote control - if you can't, there's a good chance it might be broken. |
