Chris, I've heard it suggested that the poor English is a deliberate tactic to filter out the less credulous. It costs them nothing to send out thousands of e-mails, but they don't want to invest time in engaging actively with people who are likely to see through the scam. So they send out mails that anyone reasonably sophisticated will see through, leaving only the more gullible for them to engage with. |
