Internal bleeding can be quite common and not that serious - lots of people get it after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. It is often minor and if the patient stops taking the NSAIDs it goes away (problem is, that the issue they were taking the NSAIDs for usually remains). But if someone is in that much pain I think it pretty unreasonable to tell them to wait til Tuesday. Internal bleeding can also be life-threatening - a dog I had died of it, cause of the bleeding unknown. |
