Freedom Passes More than 770,000 Freedom Pass holders have renewed in time for this week's switchover and Cllr Julian Bell, Chair of London Councils’ Transport and Environment Committee, has reassured those who have not yet renewed that their passes will still be accepted for a ‘grace period’ of six weeks. “If you have not renewed for whatever reason or have not yet received your pass please don’t worry. Your old pass will be accepted by Transport for London on the buses and tube and by staff on the railways. We have negotiated a ‘grace period’ when, although the card will not work on card readers, if you show it to staff they will accept it as valid for travel.” If someone’s Freedom Pass expired on 31 March 2015 and they have not already renewed they are asked to call 0300 330 1433 or go to the Freedom Pass website and renew as soon as possible. |
