The following message was received this morning from the Southfield Safer Neighbourhood Team: "The police successfully apprehended a Burglar while he was actually attempting to burgle a house on South Parade yesterday afternoon. This came about after the prompt action of a neighbour who saw the suspect climbing over a fence and immediately dialled 999. The police were on the scene in minutes and caught him on the job. He has now been arrested and charged. If you see anything remotely suspicious, please call the police. We really don't mind. Sometimes something like this happens as a direct result of the vigilance of a member of the public, and we are always grateful for the help." |
