They're also doing away residents' parking permits. This means a Parking Attendant wont be able to see at a glance whether a car has a permit. Will he stop at every car in every street to punch in reg details into his little computer? It'll take all day to cover a couple of streets. At least with the abolition of Tax Disc, they had the argument that number plate recognition cameras, insurance and MoT links would spot non-payers. This wont help with permits. |
