"Vanessa, I really, really don't care. I'm not a party political animal at all. I happen to view all three main parties (and their leaders) as pretty much as bad as each other, certainly as pale shadows of their political forebears, but I certainly don't want to get into the "professional politician" argument again."
Far be it from me to rain on your parade but that remark wasn't directed at you - or anyone in particular, it was an observation after the lyrical post from Sam Hearn. Contrary to popular opinion I don't think all pensioners are only interested in themselves and are canny enough not to fall for the attempt - a pretty crass one at that - to buy the 'grey vote'. I'd be a damned sight more impressed if someone, anyone, would talk about a massive house building programme that would provide truly affordable (social) housing, not some twaddle spewed out by Boris and others, anything and everything is 'affordable' if you've got enough money. Not to mention truly supporting our NHS and education, and not banging on about constant 'hard-working families' and reducing tax. Taxes are what support our public services, either we wake up and accept that's the price we need to pay or we learn to live with the cuts coming our way.
