If owners were so concerned, they could easily limit wifi access to a certain amount of time. It's not hard - a password only allows one hour of wifi access for example. Or adopt a different business model altogether - Ziferblat in Shoreditch charges per minute you are there but tea, coffee and snacks are included in the price. You do have to serve yourself though. I suspect it is only weekend lunchtimes that cafes might be so busy that they have to turn people away. I can't remember many times midweek when there has been no room in any cafe I might visit. |
