I have a question about how people managage their fridge settings...do you turn it up when it gets warmer in the summer, and have it on a lower setting in the winter? I am told by "experts" that ambient temperature does not affect the fridge, and how often the motor cycles, but find this to be not true. My fridge, which is 3 months old, definitely responds to room temperature, if I open the window and make the room much colder it seems to come on less frequently, and vice versa. If I'm boiling something and creating a lot of steam , it will come on more often. Mind you, it is free standing (ie not protected by any insulation) because it did not fill the aperture which my old fridge used to be in, and it is a very small kitchen so it is somewhat exposed. I have spoken to that guy called Glen from ags.refrigeration, and he ssaid I should not worry about how often it comes on as long as my food is not spoiling...so a bit confused. Any views appreciated. |
