I have just planted 3 cordon pears trees in my garden which I bought from a specialised fruit tree nursery. When I was there I asked the very experienced nurseryman about these type of mini trees. He did not grow them because he said they were far inferior to cordons or espaliers in terms of fruit bearing, disease resistance, longevity and just about anything else you can name. If you have room I would suggest you try cordons as a better bet. |
