So which is lamp and which is post? Strand on the Green residents have been directed by Hounslow Highways to look at the sample new "heritage" lamp in Bedford Park which has removed the pretty metal "crown" that holds up the original glass lamp shades on all the original lamps. But Strand on the Green Association leaders feel they have been reassured that this very decorative and historic feature is part of the post and only the lamp above it will go. So the Bedford Park sample is kind of worthless (except for light).
