| A friend of mine got hit with three fines when using Ringo - Ealing Borough this time. She was visiting someone who was unwell and they had booked her in as a visitor using the system. Her host was unaware that the code number for her residents' zone had been changed so although the system accepted the booking it was invalid. Ealing claimed they had sent letters notifying people of the change. The person who had made the booking was of limited means but my friend told her not to worry as she was sure the Council would cancel them in the circumstances. She was a bit late appealing the tickets so by the time she got round to it quite a large amount was owing so she decided to make an appeal to PATAS. Soon afterwards Ealing Council contacted her saying the tickets would be cancelled. The resident she was visiting is quite isolated but now refuses to use the RINGO system for fear of the problem reoccurring. The problem is that Ealing are phasing out paper vouchers altogether so she will have no choice but to use this system if she wants anybody to visit her by car. |
