There won't be a closure this weekend or next because there are six nations games at Twickenham. This probably explains the seemingly perverse decision to do work on the District Line last weekend.
TfL have said they will have finished by the Boat Race which is on April 5th. This may be because there is an accounting reason to have the work signed off before the financial year end of March 31st rather than any other consideration.
There is only one weekend (March 28th-29th) which they potentially could close the bridge before this. They probably allowed for this weekend to be a safety net if there were delays but as the weather has been generally good recently another closure is unlikely. |
