You're quite correct Helen.There is nothing wrong with food that is past it's best before date.Most of it will still be fine to eat weeks after the expiry date.On the other hand, food the carries a sell by, or use by date, must be thrown away once it has passed this date.It is illegal to sell it, and it may be harmful to eat it, so it must be thrown away.
