I wouldn't accept the cause and effect that you suggest, Andrew. The government's own recent report which carried out a global analysis found no relationship between severity of laws and effectiveness.
And as for skunk, yes, it can be somewhat harmful but as Prof Nutt and others have said, its very existence is a direct consequence of the prohibition - same as 'hooch' when alcohol was prohibited in the U.S. With legalisation people would be able to obtain the healthier varieties, which, if recent reports can be believed, is almost impossible in the U.K. these days. |
