March on Spring!

It feels like Spring is really on its way,  with the daffodils popping – and the children bopping at Sunday’s market, where we’ll see the return of great favourites Rupert’s Blues whose repertoire seems to include every song you ever wanted to dance to.

We’ll also be welcoming five new-to-Kew stalls: Bell Eames will be selling witty, personalised cushions and Small Wonderland a range of hand-made fabric accessories; Lloyds of Kew Books are coming from the Green with vintage books of local interest; Home Maids will have a sweet spread of organic confectionary and preserves; and EK Bees will be offering their award-winning pure raw honey.

There’ll be cheques handed out too, to two local charities. (All the operating profits from this volunteer-run market are donated to local good causes.) Empowering Youth  will have £310 to buy two energy-efficient halogen heaters and folding tables for art classes in their studio in Pensfold Field; and River Thames Boat Project will receive £1000 for their therapeutic and recreational ‘Accessing the Thames’ cruises for disabled and frail Richmond residents and their carers.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 1st March from 10am to 2pm!

Please note that because of how Easter falls this year there will be no market in April. The next market will be on Sunday 29th March instead.
