All ready done that in 2009, meetings with the old board, and LBOH. Far as I am concerned visitors attending any event held in the park find somewhere to park in the park. That's why the very limited paring bays were installed in riverside Drive. But on the Sundays that the car boot isn't held, there is no problem with parking on the scale when the car Boot is held. By trying to raise funds for 1300 students, the indiscriminate parking of some of your visitors, has put the safety of 250 house at risk as emergency vehicles cannot turn into riverside drive, Staveley Gardens and Alexandra Gardens, which was discussed back in 2009 with the then Board of the school and LBOH, Which resulted in parking controls being put in place. I have spent many an hour at the junction trying to sort out grid locked traffic, even a police car parked across the entrance to Riverside Drive to stop any more vehicle from entering, I couldn't believe what happen a while after. A car pulled into RD from the A316 and came to a halt with the front of his car a few mm away from the police drivers door so the policeman couldn't get out. The policeman had to get out of the nearside door of his car and started a conversation with the driver, who was ranting about all he wanted to do was park for the car boot. OK this doesn't happen often, but residents shouldn't have to be controlling traffic while the school is raising funds for 1300 students. |
