"The machines at this location, both on street and in the car park are clearly signed to indicate which machine should be used." Maybe there is a notice once you get to the machine (and recently improved according to John Todd's post), but the signage visible from where you parked the car seems to be quite misleading. From Google Street View (August 2014), if you park in the section of Heathfield Terrace between Horticultural Place and the Town Hall, the Town Hall machine has two prominent black-on-yellow signs saying "Pay here", one facing the Town Hall car park and the other facing (or at least clearly visible from) the Heathfield Terrace parking bays. But in the other direction, the Heathfield Terrace machine doesn't have a "Pay here" flag. Your photos hopefully show this and would be a crucial piece of evidence. John Martin's successful appeal (documented at http://www.patasregistersofappeals.org.uk/StatReg/case.aspx?caseref=2070466074) was in 2007, and I think the machine has been moved since then. Street View in 2008 shows it on the other side of the Town Hall by Sutton Court Road. Is that where it was for your case, John? Nicky, was the appeal that has just been rejected the initial challenge to the PCN or was it in response to a Notice to Owner received by post? If the former, you'll have to wait for the NtO if you want to soldier on, put in a full appeal ("representation") to Hounslow, and then repeat it to PATAS (adjudicator) if they reject it again. Has anyone else had a successful appeal to PATAS at this location? If so, can you please quote the case reference or PCN number? Nicky, you can email me at parking10@rjen.me.uk if you want any further advice. |
