Lucky you - a nice time to go, I went for the first time one November which was magical, with mists swirling round the squares and overlittle bridges, very atmospheric, a cross between Death in Venice and Don't Look Now - and St Mark's Square was about four foot deep in clear water which you crossed on trestle tables! I went back in the summertime and was very disappointed, it seemed touristy and tawdry compared to out of season. Allow plenty of time just to ramble and soak up the ambience going where your fancy takes you, it is a wonderful place. |
