Stuart is right - there isn't a non-beautiful part of Venice apart from the area around Piazzale Roma. Invest in a vaporetti pass for when you get tired of walking. Not sure if it counts as an obvious site but the Friari Church is worth seeing. The vaporetti will also take you to the outlying islands. We visited Murano which is a change of scenery and pace from Venice but didn't bother with the glass blowing factories. There were nice place to eat there which were a bit cheaper than Venice and by the water side. |
