'Pointy bit'
The last cruise ship I saw didn't have much of a pointy bit, and I very much doubt you could have seen what there was from most of the decks. The whole thing looked like a floating block of flats built by a particularly unimaginitive architect.
Someone who was on it assured me it was lovely inside - but from the coast it simply spoilt the view. Thankfully the excrescence soon moved on.
