It is extraordinary. I disagree with plenty of what Peter Oborne writes, but believe him to be a journalist of great integrity. To resign a job in these circumstances is no small matter and his decision honours him. The Telegraph has not fared well in the hands of the Barclay Brothers. They are milking the paper for £60 million a year. The paper has lost many of its best writers and all the emphasis is on creating click bait for the web edition. It used to be a 'must buy' on several days a week. It isn't anymore. |
