Perhaps we are not as stupid as American shoppers who, apparently, can't tell the difference between a Toffee Crisp and Reiss peanut thingies, whatever they're called. They are in the same aisle, unlike the daffs and veg, and they both have orange wrappers, so the American sugar-seeking consumer is clearly headed, so unfairly, for total confusion and needs its country to protect it. And, while our shops sell the Reiss thingies, the US is moving to ban the Toffee Crisp. I expect they'll get their way. (Just to clarify, I don't eat Toffee Crisps: it's the principle of the thing.) |
