Monitoring of Hounslow Highways performance How exactly does Keep Britain Tidy monitor the performance of Hounslow Highways? Keep Britain Tidy is commissioned to carry out independent surveys of Hounslow against various land classes and 28 different elements (litter, detritus, staining, flytipping) at routine intervals using nationally agreed and benchmarked scoring mechanisms. What is the frequency of the monitoring done by Keep Britain Tidy? The survey is carried out at 4 month intervals Tranche 1 during May/June Tranche 2 during September Tranche 3 during January/February How are the areas allocated? KBT randomly select 5 wards in each survey for review which are selected based upon a land deprivation index to ensure a fair distribution of areas covered. In addition of the the 3 surveys also includes a borough wide audit against all wards within the borough. Since April 2014 how many times has staff from Keep Britain Tidy visited Hounslow to monitor and what areas did they cover? KBT have visited Hounslow 2 times since April 2014 involving week long surveys during each visit. Tranche 1 during May 2014. The following wards were the main focus: • Brentford • Turnham Green • Hanworth • Heston Central • Chiswick Homefields Tranche 2 during September 2014. This was a borough wide survey which involves an inspection of every adopted road within London Borough of Hounslow.
