Does it really say to put it out on the pavement? It doesn't. Unfortunately the info specifically for Christmas trees on the Hounslow website isn't good enough this time. The information for garden waste states "on the edge of your property". Many considerate householders have done this so that pedestrians do not have to walk around trees blocking the pavement. Many small gardens seemed to suddenly sprout a rather bare looking Christmas tree in the front garden. Bravo. Others have taken their Christmas trees elsewhere for recycling when they have found the "normal garden waste collection day" not suiting them. Bravo. Did anybody find that their tree had been rejected from collection because it was too big? I think it is a good idea to advertise recycling facilities and sites where Christmas trees are sold. This could also show that the Councils put this information up on their websites to encourage those that can to look for the information for themselves. |
