I now light total house redesigns with LEDs and have replaced most of them on my house and at work (only dimmer incompatibility waiting for my last GU10 halogen supply to run down)

http://www.led-master.co.uk/lighting-1?beam_angle=119&equiv_wattage=147&manufacturer=11&voltage=96 for typical - but when the fitting will take it I use the 7W dimmable - not for dimming but for more power - but they are bigger. (longer)

The larger beam angle moves it away from a 'spot' and into flood territory - if you want that 'spot' then go for th enarrower beam angle.

The warm white are more like halogens, the 3000K more like low voltage spots. Ideally have  a look at some in advance.

Mr Resistor (weba nd showroom in fulham) have a larger range - I have tended to stick to phillips.

Even their pendant bulbs are amazing!

James
