Depending on what you classify as London the population now is about the same as the 1930s. There has been a big social change in that dwelling places back then would have been full of families or extended families, but now, there are a lot more singles and couples so the demand for more housing is not just more people, but how people want to live. London, particularly the rows of semis in the 'burbs, is really quite low density compared to other European cities. |
